CAIHS Monday Morning Message

September 13, 2021

Message from Mr. Maloney

Good morning CAIHS Families,

These are a few reminders for all families.

1. Students are not permitted to have their hoods or hats on in school. I recommend not wearing them at all and it will not be an issue.

2. Students are not permitted to have exposed midrifts. All students must cover their stomach area.

3. All students must have their masks covering their mouth and nose at all times. The only exception is when students are eating and drinking. Medical exceptions must be sent to the nurse for documentation.

We appreciate your support and daily conversations you have with your students.

If you have any questions please feel to contact me at 610-383-3735.

PBIS at CAIHS

Our Positive Behavior Support System is in full swing here at the Intermediate High School.

The four character traits that our students and staff are working to master are:

Being Respectful

Having Ownershp

Having Courage

Being Kind

We ROCK here at CAIHS!

Students receive ROCKs from staff when they notice these character traits, and we have drawings for prizes Weekly and Monthly. We will also celebrate with all students that earn ROCKs each quarter.

This week's prize winners were Megan Campos, Brandon Bolanos, Elyssa Hernandez, Erick Garcia-Mejias, and Cameron Sims. Congratulations!

Let's Join the Drama Club

Come join our award winning Drama Club as we set the stage for an amazing theatrical experience. The CAIHS 8-9 “Center Stage” Drama Club rehearses on both Monday and Tuesday afternoon until 5:00 PM in the CAIHS Auditorium. The CASH 10-12 “Paint and Patch” Drama Club meets on Thursday afternoon in the CASH Large Group Room/Auditorium.

Show Week/Tech Week involves a full week of obligation to ensure a quality performance. Both groups extend rehearsal time closer to production.

We need actors, singers, dancers, artists and technical crew members with a dedicated production crew staff willing to “shine” on and backstage. Both productions feature large casts with multiple opportunities for creative, dramatic and artistic expression. Specific meeting/rehearsal/audition time will be announced on the intercom and posted on hall bulletin boards. Joining Drama Club helps to express yourself, improve public speaking skills, become highly creative, adds drama to your life, engage and be part of an amazing group, becoming connected to the arts, all while experiencing the thrill of live theatre.

Last year’s production as a tremendous success and we are anxious to build on their dramatic accomplishments.

Mr. Alex DiGuiseppe, Drama Director

Picture Day

Picture Day is Friday October 1st.

Chromebooks

We will be continuing to call students to work with the IT department to provide students with their chromebooks and how to log into them. In addition, we are also replacing broken Chromebooks on a daily basis. For the new students, they are also learning how to log into Home Access and log into teachers' Canvas pages.

Please remember to have all returning students to bring their Chromebooks to school fully charged and with their chargers. This is extremely important as we start to dig into the curriculum this week and some assignments will have to be completed on their Chromebooks.
